Trying my best to be a whole person, archaeologist, and parent.
I have been a working archaeologist for 15 years. I have had to make life work in ways that I could have never thought possible. After so many years of struggle and ups and downs, its time I share what I have learned so that you dont have to make the same mistakes. I love my job most days and being a parent has taught me so much, thank you for letting me share it all with you.

I want to share my journey with you.
Working toward a goal is hard work. I have spent the last 15 years working to become an underwater archaeologist. During that time, I also learned to navigate what it meant to be the spouse of a naval aviator, what it meant to be a parent, and how to keep meaningful relationships going when you are constantly moving.
I know no one has the answers, but I want to share what I have learned so that it might not be so hard for the next person. It has been a struggle for me to find mentors, advice, or support. Not many people choose to do so many hard things at once.
A fatal flaw of mine is that I refuse not to accomplish my goals. I am willing to do the work, even if it takes me the rest of my life. I also believe that dreams are constantly changing and evolving. What started as a goal to be an archeologist is now a goal to share why archaeology matters and to make the field more accessible to everyone.

New Year Resolutions are Trash
Archaeologists might study ancient trash, but this trash is not for us! One of the many things that I have learned through my short yet often challenging life is that you always need a goal. A goal keeps you centered and gives you something to work towards or look forward to. The second thing I’ve…

I took a 12-week break from posting on Social Media and here is what happened. A little over a year ago, I went viral. I had a ton of mixed feelings. It was exciting and overwhelming. I dreamed of being a science and social science communicator, but I had no way to realize it. Then,…
